UK & Scottish Covid19 Public Inquiries

We have core participant status in both the UK and Scottish Public Inquiries.

The Scottish Covid19 Public Inquiry

The Scottish Vaccine Injury Group were initially going to be part of the Health and Social Care section of the inquiry but have been moved to another part, which will be heard some time in 2025.  This is to allow us to speak about subject matter that is very important to us, that did not ‘fit’ well in earlier procedings.  We are entirely supportive of this decision and look forward to being able to participate more fully.

Let's Be Heard

The inquiry can’t put everyone on the stand but wants to hear from as many Scottish citizens as possible about their experience of the pandemic.  The Let’s Be Heard Campaign is all about this.  Everyone’s story is analysed, considered and contributes to the findings of the Inquiry and will help shape their recommendations.  You can either share your story or watch the short introductory video already made from people’s stories below.

The Inquiry opened with a two day presentation by Dr Croft, Consultant Public Health Physician and Medical Epidemiologist, who summarised the academic research available on COVID-19 and the effectiveness of the vaccines.  His statement that”You cannot say using this vaccine prevents deaths.” caused quite a stir.   This was due to the confidence intervals in the studies not being large enough. You can watch the presentation and read the transcripts and documents by following the link below.

The UK Covid19 Public Inquiry

We were dismayed by the announcement, made last year, that module 4, which was planned for July 2024 would be postponed.  A new proposed date has been put forward for 14th January 2025 for 17 days – 13 of those will be working days.    We consider this an inadequate length of time for such an important topic because there are so many witnesses to hear from.   The inquiry said they will ‘address the vaccine safety debate’ but won’t look too closely at the safety of any individual vaccine because that ‘would serve no useful purpose’ for future pandemics.  We disagree.  The current vaccines use a different platform that has never before been given authorisation for human use, were rushed through trials, bipassed normal regulatory procedures and have no long term safety data.  We are living – and represent deceased – examples of what can happen and our numbers keep growing.  We are, however, delighted that the inquiry will be examining the regulatory processes, as well as post marketing monitoring and the vaccine damage payment scheme.

We attended  preliminary hearings in September 2023 and also May 2024, where our advocate, Anna Morrison made a fabulous job of delivering statements on our behalf.  We are delighted to be represented by Terry Wilcox, solicitor at Hudgell Solicitors, who has represented families at the recent Manchester Arena Inquiry and subpostmasters at the ongoing Post Office Horizon IT Inquiry.

Just like the Scottish Inquiry, the UK Inquiry are gathering as many stories as they can from a wide range of people from the UK population.  These will help inform any recommendations they make.  You can contribute by clicking on the link below.

Our Press Release:  11th September 2023

The Scottish Vaccine Injury Group extend our thanks to Baronness Hallet for the opportunity to have core participant status.  We already had the privilege of participating in the Scottish Covid19 public Inquiry’s preliminary hearing a couple of weeks ago, but now we can discuss some of the main issues that impact our group.  Our members have been ostracised and silenced, some of them for well over two years, so to have their voices heard will hopefully be the first step in a long overdue healing process.  Our group represents not only covid19 vaccine injured, but also covid19 vaccine bereaved who have been waiting a considerable time for some acknowledgement and closure.

It is our hope that we will not only be actively listened to, but the inquiry will make recommendations that will radically change the way we are viewed by the public, mainstream media and medical professionals.  Members who have suffered a severe adverse reaction to the covid19 vaccines hope that inquiry’s conclusions will lead to easier access to timely medical diagnosis and treatment of vaccine injury, desperately needed psychological and financial support and an end to gaslighting.

Our members are tired.  They have not only suffered a massive loss either of a loved one, their health, livelihood, freedom and for some their future, but in addition they have faced disbelief, incredulity and even been ostracised.  They have had to fight to have a voice, advocate for themselves over and over again and still, many of them are no better.  They did what they were told was necessary for everyone’s good. They were told it was selfish not to.  Now the world has moved on and they have been abandoned.

This has to change.  We have a long list of practical solutions we hope the inquiry will investigate and recommend.  We hope that the evidence we bring to the table will help avoid repeated pain and suffering in the future as well as lead to more streamlined and cost effective policies.
